Transportation: Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other necessary errands
Clerical Assistance: Interfaith volunteers assist with filling out forms and organizing paperwork for filing insurance, applying for food stamps, energy assistance, and other programs.
Friends In Touch: Homebound seniors receive regular, personal contact by telephone to help ensure their safety.
How the Program Works
Requests for volunteer services may be made by a senior adult, concerned family member, or social service agency. The only criteria for using Interfaith is that a client be 60 or older and have need of our service.
Transportation service is based on the availability of volunteers, so
requests should be made 10-14 days in advance whenever possible.
The Greatest Need
Transportation and phone volunteers are needed, and slots are available to meet nearly any scheduling limitations. Donations to Interfaith are used to support volunteer recruitment and training and to facilitate the coordination of services.
Major funding for this program generously provided by Memorial Healhcare System
